GLYHA & HYHA Membership Approve Merger
Both the GLYHA & HYHA membership overwhelmingly approved the final merger of our associations at their respective Annual Meeting’s last week. GLYHA approved it by a vote of 37-2, and HYHA by a 67-22 margin.
Under this merger agreement, both GLYHA & HYHA will continue to exist as official USA Hockey associations, both as non-profit 501c entities, and will remain as members of their respective state leagues. However, both associations will now pool all of their resources into one larger umbrella organization, the Upper Valley Youth Hockey Association.
All players will continue to register with their normal home association. Once registered, all players will jointly try-out together, just as we did this past season, and teams will be placed in either NH or VT. However, instead of wearing Hartford blue or Lebanon maroon, all players will now be wearing the same jersey, regardless of what state they are registered in. The new jersey, logo and team name will be revealed this weekend at our joint HYHA – GLYHA year-end banquet, and the winner of our “Name the New Association” will be revealed. Come see the new logo!!!!
Under the GLYHA by-laws, 9 people were elected to the board of directors. Our 9 board of directors are; Jim Damren, Tammy Daley, Kate Barber, Melissa Kiernan, Maddy Goodell, Bruce Adams, John Adams, Mike Barre and Ernie Gour. However, under the merge agreement, GLYHA has sent 4 representatives to the to-be-formed UVYHA board. These 4 members will represent GLYHA and be full voting members of the UVYHA board. They are: Jim Damren, Tammy Daley, Bruce Adams and Ernie Gour. The remaining 5 members of the GLYHA board will be advisors to the four UVYHA representatives, and will continue to represent you, the membership of GLYHA.
The HYHA board will be electing their 5 members to the UVYHA board in the near future.
GLYHA would like to thank all of those volunteers and members who helped make this merger a reality. We especially would like to invite those 24 members who voted in opposition to it to come and tell us what we can do to alleviate their concerns and make this the best association we can, and give our players, regardless of which state they live in, the best hockey experience possible.

Lebanon and Hartford Youth Hockey Merge! For the 2007-2008
season, the GLYHA and HYHA board voted and passed the motion that Lebanon and
Hartford Youth Hockey will merge. ALL youth hockey programs have merged,
including what was formally the "in-house" programs (Learn to Skate, Learn to
Play and Valley Mites) and the girls programs.
The GLYHA Board has opted out of combining with the Hanover Youth Hockey
Association in the in-house programs, which we have done for the last several
years. We have invited Hanover to participate with the Lebanon and
Hartford in-house programs, if they wish to do so.
We have changed the names of the in-house programs so that it reflects this new
change in the merger. Learn to Skate will remain the same. What was
formally called, "Learn to Play" is now, "Intro to Hockey". What was
formally called, "Valley Mites", is now "Termites". Please see the
"Registration" link for program fee's, etc.
We are anticipating that at the end of the 2007-2008 season, we will be merging
on a permanent basis with the Hartford Youth Hockey Association, potentially
making it one association. We are already getting ideas for new jersey
colors and a new team name (see contest details...) in anticipation for this
merger.
Remember that the GLYHA Board meetings are open to the public, and we strongly
encourage the GLYHA community to come and participate! We have many
changes that are occurring, and realize that there may be questions or concerns
that the community may have. We welcome anyone to come and listen and
voice yourselves!

Greater Lebanon Youth Hockey Association
Press Release
The Greater Lebanon Youth Hockey Association is proud to announce that three players from our association have been selected to represent New Hampshire at the New England Yankee Conference Hockey Festival. Haley Dutille has been selected to the Girls U-14 Select Team, Adam Haidari selected to the Boys U-12 Select team, and Molly Whitaker was selected to the Girls U-12 Select team.
The Yankee Conference Hockey Festival is part of USA Hockey's Player Development Program. Each state in the New England District conducts tryouts to send a representation to the festivals. These 5 states include CT, ME, NH, RI, and VT. The final outcome is to send the 17 best players (15 skaters and 2 goalies) at each age group for each state to the New England Festivals. Festival participants receive on- and off-ice training under the direction of leading USA Hockey coaches, along with current and former National Hockey League and Women’s National Team players. The 17 best players from each age group are selected and sent to the National Festival weekend.
Dutille, the daughter of Doug & Kathy Dutille of Lebanon, played forward for the Lebanon girls U-14 travel team this past season. Whitaker, daughter of Brad & Karen Whitaker of West Lebanon, played defense for the Peewee Gold team. Haidari, son of Ahmad and Chris Haidari of Lebanon, was also a defenseman, and played for the Peewee Maroon team. GLYHA directors, coaches and team mates congratulate these players for receiving this honor, and wish them the best of luck at their respective festival.
The Pee Wee Maroon team were finalists at the Turkey Shootout at TriTown Ice Arena. See Photo's page 2.
PeeWee Gold win's the championship game at the Essex Vermont January Buzz Invitational in January. Lebanon beat CSB 4-0 in the championship game. See Photo's page 3.
